Dr. Derr earned his dental degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 1978. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center in affiliation with Minneapolis Children’s Hospital and St. Paul Ramsey (Region’s) Hospital.
Dr. Derr served part-time over 20 years at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he was promoted three times to the rank of Clinical Professor. He helped direct the General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital Dental Clinic. As a faculty member he was elected to Omicrom Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Derr has been selected as a Top Dentist for the past six consecutive surveys of the Mpls/St. Paul and Minnesota Monthly Magazines. He provides volunteer dental service locally and internationally with numerous organizations.
Dr. Derr began his private practice in Eden Prairie in 1991, then relocated to a beautiful new building in 2008.
Dr. Amy Chi DDS
Dr. Amy (Adams) Chi is a graduate of Blaine High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences and went on to Dental School at the University of Minnesota. After receiving her DDS Degree in 2008, Amy pursued an elective residency at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. At that time she was honored to serve Minnesota’s veterans and their dental needs. Following residency Dr. Chi has been in private practice for over six years serving patients from the South Metro, including but not limited to those living in Edina, Hopkins, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and Minnetonka.
She is excited to join Dr. Derr and looks forward to providing years of service and continuing the tradition of exceptional dental care.
Dr. Chi enjoys all disciplines within the practice of dentistry and treats patients of all ages and dental needs. She is committed to utilizing the latest dental techniques and materials. She participates in a variety of continuing education courses and is a member of a local Spear Study Club.
Amy and her husband Erick, an Edina native (class of ’98), live locally and are members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Amy and Erick enjoy spending time with their children Annie and Jack, being in the outdoors, traveling and relaxing with family and friends.
